After five years of transformative leadership, Lenka Prokopec Karlberg and the Board have mutually agreed that she will step down from her role as CEO. Under her guidance, Mitt Liv has made significant strides in advancing the inclusive labour market and driving positive change. Through the commitment of our dedicated partners, we have seen transformative shifts in DEI strategies and operations, including record participation in mentoring programs, CEO networks in collaboration with Stockholm School of Economics, and an annual symposium that brings together thought leaders and experts.

“Lenka has been a great leader of Mitt Liv's journey and growth in recent years, with her dedication and structural capacity of the organization, driving a digitalization and creating inclusion assets. Now that we are entering a new phase for Mitt Liv with representation in multiple markets and a subsidiary in Switzerland, we are in agreement that Lenka will pass on the leadership of Mitt Liv. We are grateful for everything Lenka has done for Mitt Liv and the cause, and we wish her all the best in the future,” says Chair of the board Therese Bohlin.

“It has been five intense and rewarding years, full of learnings. I am proud of the impact our team has had in shifting attitudes, norms, and structures within companies and grateful for the engaged partners and everyone I have had the opportunity to drive change with. By connecting employers with professionals of foreign backgrounds through networks and meetings, Mitt Liv has worked to address the issue of brain waste, leveraging the skills of our target group and contributing to a more inclusive and resilient labour market. As Mitt Liv now enters a new phase, I couldn’t think of a better person to hand over to than Claire. I will continue to support Mitt Liv and look forward to my involvement as a mentor. I wish the amazing team all the best for the future" says Lenka.

As the organisation prepares for the next chapter, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Karlsson as Acting CEO. Claire has been with Mitt Liv since 2014 and has played a key role in driving the company’s success. In her current role as Head of DEI Strategy & Research, she has led innovative initiatives that have delivered substantial impact for clients. Her entrepreneurial mindset, proven leadership in major development projects, and ability to build trust make her the ideal leader for the company’s next phase. With her international experience and exceptional leadership skills, Claire is well-equipped to drive growth and continue to enhance its services for clients across markets.

"I’m excited to take on this new challenge and continue building on the incredible foundation that Lenka has established,” says Claire Karlsson. “As the labour market navigates the challenges of a rapidly changing work landscape, it is crucial that companies lead the transition with a strong focus on inclusion and purpose-driven action. I’m particularly committed to further expanding our efforts across Europe, supporting more businesses in their DEI journeys, and creating pathways for underrepresented individuals to enter the labour market. With the amazing team here at Mitt Liv, I am confident that we can continue to find innovative solutions that close these gaps and further strengthen the meaningful impact we create for both companies and individuals."

Claire Karlsson will officially assume the role of Acting CEO on January 1, 2025.
