The Mitt Livs Chans Mentoring Program

A bridge to the Swedish labour market

The application for the spring program is now closed. The next program starts in autumn 2025, and we will soon announce the exact dates for the next application period. Stay tuned on our website for updates!

Mitt Livs Chans is Sweden’s largest mentoring program for individuals with a foreign background and post-secondary education who don’t have a job in their area of competence. Through mentorship and an expanded contact network, we strive to improve the possibilities for our mentees to find a job within their field.

Are you looking for a job that matches your qualifications?

Become a mentee and receive support in your job seeking

As a mentee in Mitt Livs Chans, you receive support and guidance from a mentor who is established in the Swedish labour market. During the program’s joint meetings you also have the possibility to expand your professional network through contact with other mentors, and you receive tools designed to make your job-seeking activities more efficient and effective.

Are you established in the Swedish labour market?

Become a mentor and contribute to a more open labour market

Being a mentor in Mitt Livs Chans means that you provide individual support to a person with a foreign background and post-secondary education who doesn’t have a job in Sweden that matches their qualifications. Do you want to make a difference? We are looking for mentors from all levels of companies and organisations who can contribute to our program with their engagement and their experience – it’s a relatively small commitment that can make a huge difference to someone else!

How it works...

Mitt Livs Chans offers two programs per year – one during the autumn and one during the spring. Each program lasts for 4 months, and participation entails a commitment of 10 hours in total.

Since you participate digitally, you are welcome to apply regardless of where you live in Sweden. All the joint meetings are held in English.

The program includes:

Individual Mentoring Meetings

At least 4 meetings, 1 hour each

During these meetings, mentees and mentors work together to navigate the Swedish labour market and enhance job-seeking activities. Mentors provide their experience and support. Meetings are scheduled as you wish during the program and conducted digitally or in person.

Online Joint Meetings

Participants meet online for networking, sharing experiences, and gaining knowledge and tools on various themes. The program starts with a kick-off meeting:

  • Kick-off meeting for mentors: 1x 2h

  • Kick-off meeting for mentees: 1x 1h 45 mins

Theme Meetings

  • Networking: 1x 1h 30 mins (for mentees and mentors)

  • The path to your new career in Sweden: 1x 1h 30 mins (for mentees only)
