About the program

Mitt Liv's mentoring program is Sweden’s largest mentoring program for individuals with a foreign background and post-secondary education. The program provides support to help mentees enter the Swedish labour market through mentoring, education, and a growing network. The goal? To improve their chances of finding a qualified job that matches their skills.

Who can become a mentor?

We are looking for mentors from all types of roles and positions in all types of industries and sectors. We also welcome applications from retired persons. To be a mentor in our program, you need to:

  • Have a few years’ work experience in the Swedish labour market

  • Have a post-secondary education or equivalent experience

  • Be engaged, inquisitive and a good listener

  • Be able to communicate freely in English

  • Be able to commit around 10 hours in total during the 4 months of the program.

Program details

The program runs for 4 months and requires a total commitment of approximately 10 hours. Since it is conducted digitally, you can apply regardless of where in Sweden you live. The program contains:

Mentorship/mentoring meetings

During these meetings, mentees and mentors work together to navigate the Swedish labour market and job search process. Mentors provide their insights and support. Meetings are scheduled at your convenience during the program and can be conducted digitally or in person.

Group online sessions

Participants meet online to network, share experiences, and gain knowledge and tools on various themes. All group sessions are held in English.

E-learning platform

Mentees and mentors have access to a digital platform throughout the program. It provides tips, advice, and training materials before meetings, including a digital introductory course with tools and guidance for mentorship and the program.
