At the annual general meeting on March 26th, Therese Bohlin was elected as the new chairperson of the board. Simultaneously, Jan Berntsson, former CEO of Deloitte, was welcomed as a new board member. Furthermore, the meeting decided on a rights issue where Monique Baer joins as a new shareholder.
ꟷ To meet the international demand for Mitt Liv's expertise, it's essential that our board reflects our growth vision. We are extremely pleased with the trust Therese and Jan have placed in us, and the experience and skills they will bring. Alongside the rest of the board, we're taking an important step into the next phase of our journey, says Sofia Appelgren, founder of Mitt Liv.
Therese Bohlin has contributed her expertise as a board member of Mitt Liv since 2018. She has advised several of Sweden's largest companies and held leading positions in the business sector, most recently as CEO of the consultancy organisation Prime & United Minds.
ꟷ Over 15 years, Mitt Liv has made a remarkable journey in promoting inclusion within the business sector. They have supported and trained more than 7,000 with a foreign background through their mentoring program, the majority of whom have secured employment, moved large corporations forward in their inclusion efforts and recruitment, and initiated Sweden's only CEO program focused on inclusion issues. With significant barriers in the labour market excluding certain groups, we collectively need to make a concerted effort so that every individual can participate and contribute to our shared future, says Therese.
Jan Berntsson served as the CEO of Deloitte in Sweden from 2008 to 2023 and was also a member of Deloitte's global board. He has worked with many of Sweden's largest companies, including Atlas Copco, Boliden, and ICA Gruppen.
ꟷ In my role as a mentor within the framework of Mitt Liv's mentoring program, I became aware of the significant challenges many people with a foregin background face in the Swedish labour market. It's a loss for our society when well-educated and qualified individuals from other countries are not given the opportunity to contribute their knowledge and skills in the labour market. Mitt Liv does an outstanding job helping these individuals find employment that matches their education. It feels very meaningful to be able to contribute to this work, says Jan.
The meeting also decided on a rights issue where Monique Baer joins as a new shareholder. This enables Mitt Liv to expand its operations internationally by establishing a subsidiary in Switzerland [read the press release here].
Emma Claesson and Lennart Grebelius have declined re-election, and the board wishes to express their sincere thanks for their valuable contributions over the years.
